O isolamento de novos microrganismos entomopatog\u00eanicos \u00e9 essencial para ampliar a base gen\u00e9tica dos bioinseticidas, possibilitando sua aplica\u00e7\u00e3o eficaz sob diferentes condi\u00e7\u00f5es de cultivo. Este estudo teve como objetivo isolar bact\u00e9rias entomopatog\u00eanicas de solo enriquecido com quitina com potencial atividade contra E. heros.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RESULTADOS<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A partir de solo suplementado com quitina por 90 dias, foram obtidos os isolados CC1, CC2 e CC3, identificados como Bacillus thuringiensis, Bacillus altitudinis e Priestia megaterium, respectivamente. Bioensaios para o controle de E. heros indicaram que o m\u00e9todo de inocula\u00e7\u00e3o por contato tarsal foi o mais eficaz em compara\u00e7\u00e3o aos m\u00e9todos de contato dorsal e ingest\u00e3o, para os isolados testados. A mortalidade dos insetos aumentou com maiores concentra\u00e7\u00f5es de bact\u00e9rias inoculadas. Os isolados CC1 e CC2, utilizando o m\u00e9todo de inocula\u00e7\u00e3o tarsal na maior concentra\u00e7\u00e3o celular testada (2,5 \u00d7 10\u2079 UFC mL\u207b\u00b9), causaram mortalidades de percevejos de 79% e 61% em at\u00e9 10 dias, respectivamente. O isolado CC3 apresentou a menor atividade inseticida.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CONCLUS\u00c3O<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As bact\u00e9rias CC1 (B. thuringiensis) e CC2 (B. altitudinis), isoladas de solo enriquecido com quitina, demonstram potencial promissor como bioinseticidas contra E. heros em condi\u00e7\u00f5es laboratoriais. At\u00e9 onde \u00e9 de nosso conhecimento, estes achados representam o primeiro relato do uso de B. altitudinis no controle de E. heros.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Abstract:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BACKGROUND<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Biological control using entomopathogenic microorganisms is a more sustainable alternative to chemical pesticides for managing insect pests in agriculture. The isolation of novel entomopathogenic microorganisms is essential to broaden the genetic base of bioinsecticides, which will enable their effective application under diverse cropping conditions. This study aimed to isolate entomopathogenic bacteria from chitin-enriched soil with potential activity against E. heros.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RESULTS<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From soil amended with chitin for 90\u2009days, isolates CC1, CC2, and CC3 were obtained and identified as Bacillus thuringiensis, Bacillus altitudinis, and Priestia megaterium, respectively. Bioassays for control of E. heros indicated that the tarsal contact inoculation method was the most effective compared with dorsal contact and ingestion methods, with the tested isolates. Insect mortality increased with higher concentrations of inoculated bacteria. Isolates CC1 and CC2, using the tarsal inoculation method at the highest cell concentration (2.5\u2009\u00d7\u2009109\u2009CFU\u2009mL\u22121), caused stink bug mortalities of 79% and 61% within 10\u2009days, respectively. Isolate CC3 showed the lowest insecticidal activity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CONCLUSION<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The bacteria CC1 (B. thuringiensis) and CC2 (B. altitudinis), isolated from chitin-enriched soil, demonstrate promising potential as bioinsecticides against E. heros under laboratory conditions.
